Veneers are a thin casing which mimics the shape of a natural tooth crafted from composite or porcelain. They are used to protect the teeth surface from damage or, to improve the appearance of damaged teeth. There are two types of veneers based on the material used for the production of veneers. The materials used for fabricating are dental Composite and porcelain. At LBR dental and implant center, our team of specialists craft veneers at our own hi-tech laboratory and are used on demand. They are bond either using multi-shade resin cement or directly built up on the teeth. At LBR Dental Implant center, India we have advanced machinery to perform all procedures required for the fabrication of veneers.
Veneers are a vital implement used in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Veneers provide a homogeneous color, shape and proportion and improve the aesthetic appearance of the teeth.
•There is Discoloration or staining on the surface of the teeth.
• Presence of cavities.
• Enamel defects.
• Short teeth.
• Gum recession causing black discoloration between the teeth.
• Gaps between teeth.
• Crooked teeth.
Veneers can be installed in two methods: direct built up or indirect method. Steps involved in both these methods are discussed below:
Clinical assessment: The Dentist identifies any oral health distress before the veneer placement. The best shade of veneer is chosen using imaging technology and provides a preview of the desired result before the treatment procedure.
Preparation of the tooth: the dentist initiates the tooth preparation process by administering local anaesthesia and performs tooth shaping.
Indirect built up method, composite resin veneers are crafted by choosing the matching composite shade, the veneer is then hardened using curing light. Additional layers are applied to shape the veneer to bring it to the exact shape of the specimen tooth. The veneer is then finished and polished to look natural.
Inindirect method, an impression is obtained of the teeth and sent to our lab for moulding the veneers. Using CAD/CAM technology, dental technician fabricates the veneer and is then bonded to the teeth using the most matching shade of resin cement.
The type of veneer used is decided based on several factors including the time factor, budget, and type of built up required. The patient can decide whether veneer is the best option by discussing the requirement with the dentist. Here we are listing few of the advantages of both composite and Porcelain veneers,
• Veneer fitting can be completed in a single visit.
• Composite veneer requires less tooth preparation.
• Composite veneer is affordable.
• high durability
• translucent and provides a natural look.
• maintains natural structure of the tooth.
• Straightens crooked teeth.
• Prevents teeth grinding.
• Covers large spaces.
• More resistant to staining and discolouration.
